All up my tripod and ballhead is under 2Kg but that's a suitable compromise for what I need it to do.
Welcome to the forum, by the way! It's a wealth of info and a friendly place to hang out.
So where do you hike? Your profile has no location. |
Thanks for the information - nothing is easy in the pursuit of lightweight backpacking......
I have updated my profile to include a location - thanks for the tip. I live in Far (Far) North Queensland - Thursday Island.
As for hiking, I go either interstate or overseas once a year. The old man lives in Devonport so also go there once a year. Just came back from a circuit starting at the Walls Of Jeruselem, across the Overland Track and back out the other side - a total of five days great walking. Have also done some East Coast stuff and SW stuff (gotta love that mud !). |

Nicely done Tasadam,
This shot would be great at ISO100 , and as you mentioned, higher F and longer times would look great.
Your multiple exposures put together look great too.
Well done. Look forward to seeing more of the same.
Cheers,

Very impressive Adam, both the tree/star image and the sunset gif.
Cheers

Nice pic. I love these types of shots. Makes waiting the 15 minutes all worthwhile. Agree with others about the ISO. Can't wait to see more of this type.

Has to be a Capture of the week candidate. If you had time tasadam a short tutorial on these techniques would be a great contribution or if you could note any relevant sites on these techniques, additional to what you mentioned. _________________ D70/200 etc; PPOK |

Adam,
that is really a beautiful image. The lighting on the tree is fantastic. I wonder if there is some way the sky could be made blacker (I'm sure there is a PS method somewhere), as I'm sure it was pitch black at the time. _________________ Frank

OK tasadam,
Your post fully rocks This is great work.
On the tripod stability issue - a mate of mine has a tripod which has a hook
on the lower part of the center column to accomodate a "sand bag". He carries a EMPTY sand bag with him and fills it with sand/gravel/rocks if and when needed - he swears by it ...
