I joined one of the two Sydney based walks for Scott Kelby's Third Annual Worldwide Photo Walk on the weekend and whilst in the Royal Botanic Gardens I was lucky enough to have this Ibis land in one of the pieces of art/sculpture right next to me and start to drink from the bowl at the top. This allowed me to get some close up shots (with the lens I happened to have on the camera at the time) from only a metre or two away before flying off.
D90 + Tamron 90mm, 1/500 sec at f/9, ISO 200
I don't usually take photos of birds but I am very keen to hear what you think (especially if you are a seasoned bird photographer).
Thanks... |

No comments ! Hehe .. Its an ugly thing isnt it.. and really hard to photograph.. a bit like a wedding, black and textures plus white and textures. You either blow out the whites or loose details in the black. But You have done well with this one. Nice port of an ugly thing! I do like the textures of its head.
any more from the walkabout? I was booked to do one last year in thailand but that trip fell through.. shame I missed this one totally. _________________ Moments of Light : D70 s5pro 18-200vr 12-24 18-70 C&C very welcome!
