Hi all
After recently taking my 18-55 kit lens for a swim I had to purchase a new one. I decided on a Sigma 18-50mm HSM and have had it for a few weeks now. It's a basic lens, I know, but it is comparible to the kit lens that came with the camera so I'm happy. The problem I have is the images taken with this new lens, especially close ups, appear to me to be overexposed. The photos look washed out slightly and I consistently turn down the apeture value by a factor of 2/3-1.
Is this a problem with the lens or is it just the way it is. I thought that perhaps the larger lens size (67mm versus 58mm) was letting in more light. Any thoughts?

| I find that with my Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 i have to set the exposure comp to -2/3rd for it to work nicely... or use manual |

Post samples ..
Sigma reverse engineers the mount and electronics of the other camera manufacturers. So sometimes it does not get it exactly right. But post samples and settings so we can have a better idea of what you are seeing.. _________________ Moments of Light : D70 s5pro 18-200vr 12-24 18-70 C&C very welcome!

Sorry I cant help and dont want to hi-jack the thread but I have exactly the same problem with my Canopn 24-70 L series when compared to my old Canon 17-85.
Seems the same on all bodies ive tried - i can work around it, but its a strange thing.
